Henko Capital Partners I, FCR, a new Spanish private equity fund, has raised EUR 70 million with the aim of investing in Spanish and Portuguese SMEs to foster their growth.

Henko Capital Partners I, FCR, is managed by Solventis and receives investment advice from Henko Partners, led by Lars Becker, who has extensive experience in the private equity market in Iberia and internationally and is joined as founding team by Íñigo Urbón, Ricardo Mellado and Jules de Meeus, who also come from the sector.

Henko Capital Partners I, FCR, seeks stakes in SMEs with growth projects and transformational challenges in companies with a B2B model, both in services and manufacturing, technology, and healthcare. The Fund wants to be more than a financial investor,” explains Lars Becker. based on providing financial resources along with operational resources to energize the growth and objectives of the companies. The Fund will put in place a collaborative model in order to be a good partner for entrepreneurs and to bring value as a shareholder.”

The Fund has just completed its first two investments in two industrial service providers focused on transition technologies and renewable energies. Henko Capital Partners I, FCR’s objective is to promote its transformational development, enabling them to double in size and enter new markets in the coming years.

With the acquisition of the two companies, the Fund establishes a solid platform of industrial services with high specialization in the energy transition market and renewable energies such as biomass, hydroelectric and green hydrogen, which are in full expansion cycle. The project is focused on strengthening international expansion and further consolidating their position in their respective sectors through acquisitions.

Henko Partners, will provide strategic advice to the portfolio companies: “We get very involved in the companies of the Fund; we make operational improvements and add value to them so that they can leapfrog their growth,” explains Lars Becker. “Spain and Portugal are very attractive markets for us because of the large network of small and medium-sized companies that are looking to make the leap to internationalization,” he adds.

The Fund, through its management company,  incorporates compliance with environmentally and socially responsible sustainability criteria (ESG) in the investments it conducts.
