Investment team

João joined Henko in 2025 as an Investment Manager, attracted by the firm’s ambition, entrepreneurial spirit, and differentiated investment strategy.

At Henko, he is actively involved in sourcing and executing new investments, as well as supporting management teams in expanding their businesses both organically and through mergers and acquisitions.

Before joining Henko, João was part of the investment team at Preservation Capital Partners in London, where he worked on multiple acquisitions and platform build-ups across Europe. Previously, he worked in the investment banking divisions of Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank, advising financial institutions on complex M&A and financing transactions.

He holds a Master’s in Finance and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon, and completed a CEMS double degree with international experience in Argentina and Russia. He is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.

Originally from Portugal and now based in Madrid, João has lived in six countries across Europe and the Americas. He enjoys contemporary history, skiing, and exploring new places with his wife — preferably off the beaten path.
