Santiago joins Henko Partners as General Counsel in 2026, after having collaborated with the firm as external counsel since its foundation in 2021. Since the beginning of the project, he has worked closely with the team on various transactions, advising on due diligence processes and the negotiation of the agreements governing its investments.

He has more than two decades of experience advising private equity funds, multinational companies and management teams on M&A transactions and business growth processes. Throughout his career he worked at leading international law firms, where he was a partner at EY Abogados and the international firm Bird & Bird. During this time, he participated in more than 150 M&A and private equity transactions, many of them with an international dimension. This experience has enabled him to develop a deep understanding of the investor and business perspective, approaching transactions not only from their legal standpoint, but also from the strategic and value creation logic behind each project.

At Henko, he is actively involved in the structuring and execution of the fund's investments, as well as in providing legal advice to portfolio companies, helping to establish solid frameworks that support their growth and consolidation.

Santiago holds a Law degree from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) and combines his professional activity with teaching as a guest lecturer. Outside the professional sphere, he particularly enjoys travelling with his family, running and playing golf, as well as reading, cinema and investing in the stock market.
