Volker is co-founder and Chairman of DPE Deutsche Private Equity, a leading German growth capital firm with approximately €3bn assets under management. He co-founded DPE in 2007 and the firm currently employs 55 team members in Munich. DPE invests in fast growing companies, delivering organic or acquisition-driven growth in the DACH markets.

After receiving a degree in business administration from the University of Münster, Volker started his career at BCG Bosten Consulting Group in Düsseldorf. Subsequently, he held executive board positions in three different German family-held machine-building companies before moving into private equity. After seven years as a Director and then Partner at Granville Baird Capital Partners, he co-founded DPE in 2007, addressing the need for a professional growth-focussed investment firm in the German market.

Volker has served on German and international corporate supervisory boards for over 30 years. In addition to the DPE board, he currently advises Air Alliance (air ambulance), Cirquono (recycling), Arbonium Technologies (bio refinery), GMH (bike leasing), Sercoo (turbocharger) and Cornus Holding (serial acquirer).

In his private life, he spends as much time with his three children as possible and is a regular on the European classic car racing circuit.
