Henko Partners closes its second fund after raising €175 million

  • Henko Partners raises €175 million for its second fund (Henko Capital Partners II, FCRE) to support Spanish and Portuguese SMEs in their growth projects.

Madrid, October 7, 2024. – Less than three years after raising its first fund at the end of 2021, Henko Partners celebrated the final closing of its second fund at the €175 million hard cap. The firm’s €70 million 2021 maiden vehicle was invested across six portfolio companies, which in turn completed another fifteen add-on acquisitions to consolidate sub-sectors across energy, technology and healthcare.  Over the last three years, Henko has been one of the most active private equity firms in the lower-mid market in Iberia.

Henko now successfully closed its €175 million second fund, after announcing a €100m first close in February this year. The new fund will follow a similar investment strategy, targeting companies with EBITDA ranging from €2 million to €10 million across four key sectors: healthcare, technology, sustainability, and industrial technology. Henko’s mission is to back high-growth companies with strong management teams, very often supporting an international expansion of its portfolio companies. Henko fund II already has made two investments, Lisbon-based Link Consulting, an IT services firm, and the leading Portuguese engineering firm Quadrante. Both firms have already completed significant add-on acquisitions in Spain over the course of 2024.

Lars Becker, partner at Henko, said: “We are thrilled to welcome our new investors and deeply appreciate the trust and ongoing support of those who have supported us since inception. The final closing of our second fund is a significant milestone for us, and another step towards building an exciting investment firm. We remain committed to identifying exceptional companies and partnering with top-tier management teams.”
