New investments

  • Revergy: Leading asset management and O&M company for wind and solar energy generation plants. We aim to consolidate Revergy´s presence across Europe, LatAm & US, optimizing the management and performance of wind and solar parks.
  • BioClever: European Buy & Build project to create an international full-service CRO (clinical research organization) specializing in clinical research for pharma and biotech companies. Client focused and pursuing excellence in clinical trials.

Add-on acquisitions

  • Voltan strengthens commissioning with Aplipem: Aplipem joined the Voltan group, adding highly specialized electrical services in the assembly and start-up phase of power generation plants, as well as in transmission infrastructure. Voltan is consolidating its position as a full-service commissioning provider.
  • Defeder expands its product portfolio: Defeder closed its first add-on in December 2022 (to be announced shortly), consolidating its position as a leading Spanish manufacturer of organic fertilizers. With this transaction, Defeder widens its product portfolio and expands its manufacturing capacity.

Portfolio performance

  • Despite the turbulences of 2022, our portfolio companies have shown outstanding performance. We are proud to be working closely with management teams that have achieved >30% average annual organic growth.
  • Voltan has advanced in the integration of three companies (MMYPEM, Teiga and Aplipem), consolidating its position as a specialized technical service provider for energy generation plants across Europe.
  • Defeder continues to successfully execute its growth plan, this year adding its first add-on acquisition with more planned for 2023. Defeder is consolidating its position as a market leader in organic fertilizers.
  • Revergy and BioClever joined the Henko family in 2022 with ambitious plans for 2023.

Talent acquisition

  • Jose Castellote leads portfolio management: With the hire of José Castellote, Henko initiated its portfolio team. José joins Henko from management roles at GE Healthcare, AREVA/Alstom and Babcock. In parallel, the portfolio companies continue to attract top-level talent at management and board levels, to execute their growth plans.

Portfolio development plan

  • Voltan aims to acquire several add-ons to widen its service portfolio of value-added services to the energy industry and to increase its presence in the transmission and distribution segment.
  • Defeder will continue to grow organically while advancing with its inorganic growth strategy. The company aims to acquire 2 new add-ons, mainly aimed at expanding its international reach and manufacturing capacity.
  • Revergy is going to maintain its strong organic growth pace based on the current backlog and open new branches in strategic countries in Europe and LatAm.
  • BioClever expects to grow internationally with the first acquisitions of similar CROs in other countries across Europe. The company will start to execute international clinical trials in 2023.

Pablo Fernández

· Extensive experience in finance and management control.


· Previous experience as CFO and Client Operations Director at Jones Lang Lasalle, Bouygues and Carrefour, proven ability to implement action plans and process reengineering to improve the company performances.


· Degree in Business Administration from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and MBA by IE.

Vanesa Valentín

· João has a strong background in M&A advisory services in the Portuguese and Spanish markets.


· João started his career at KPMG Portugal providing corporate finance and M&A advisory services and he has also worked at Alantra´s Credit Portfolio Advisory division. 

· João has a MSc in Management and Finance from Cass Business School and a BSc in Business Administration from Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics.
